World cup 2014

Oh my goodness, Ghana takes the lead.

Exciting game.

Scary injury there at the end!

Another fantastic game. Fantastic.

My mother never liked soccer much. During this World Cup…she is watching every game. :)

Germany > Portugal
USA > Ghana
Ghana = Germany

=> USA > Portugal

Will my logic work tomorrow?

Group of Death just got very interesting.

In other soccer news, Hope Solo was arrested on a domestic violence charge last night.

Solo cannot stay out of the drama.

It will be interesting to see how the US approach a depleted Portugal team. They beat Ghana, but that was just a huge fluke as they played a complete anti-football game and did not put three passes together all game long. It was easily one of the three worst games of the WC so far. They won but short of Cameroon and Algeria, they played the worst of all teams.

But this WC has been unpredictable, logic defying, and … highly entertaining for all but three games.

Germany is rattled and lucky they aren’t down 3-1. Ghana finally woke up.

Russian defensemen left two Belgium forwards all alone in front of the goal and a good pass made it 1-0.

I don’t know why ABC will broadcast the Korea-Algeria game but will not broadcast the USA-Portugal game today?

The other forward was central defender Vincent Kompany. His pushing forward was what created the space for Origi. The defenders followed Fellaini. A survival of the fittest. A highly tactical game between the two teams that should emerge.

“I don’t know why ABC will broadcast the Korea-Algeria game but will not broadcast the USA-Portugal game "
today?”

Because ESPN won the rights and gets to choose which of their networks broadcast certain matches. They want ESPN to get the ratings for US games. ABC is ‘ESPN on ABC’ now a secondary platform for them- not the orig. ABC Sports.

Well, hello, Algeria! Where have you been?

Gosh, that happened quickly!

Algerians showing dynamic and inspired soccer. Too bad their supporters remind us of the horrible WC noises. Why do supporters think it helps their team to whistle every time their opponents control the ball? It is just as bad as in the first Japan game.

Algeria is a joy to watch today.

I never thought I’d say that…

This is quite the entertaining warmup for the impending USian demolition of Portugal.

Good game!

I say we end it now.

Ronaldo must be thinking about his glamorous girlfriend because he doesn’t appear to have showed up today.
