World cup 2014

Vamos Argies!

After yesterday’s drama, I figured it would be 0-0 at half in this game. :(

Some of these guys are getting concussions yet the teams are allowing them to continue to play. This should not be happening regardless of the importance of the game.

^^^^^I agree! I think it was in an early stage where a guy was clearly knocked unconscious on the field. They were talking to him on the sideline, and he kept insisting he wanted to go back in. His eyes looked wild, and he appeared to be out of it other than his determination to play. They let him go.

Okay, weird. I literally just got an email from GotSoccer, a soccer forum, about concussions in youth soccer and strategies needed to manage and treat them…

Haha. The announcers just mentioned Rob Rensenbrink and the impact of his unfortunate kick on the post in Buenos Aires. I think I heard that story and the related stories of corruption a dozen times at home. My dad kept a shrine of videos to make his point! Had he scored, Rensenbrink might have been heralded as one of best left forwards who ever played the game. He was that good, but too humble.

The guy on Argenina with the concussion just saved a goal.

^^^^That’s all fine and good; but what I’m worried about is if he suffers a second severe hit. Those are the ones which can cause brain damage and death.

Messi gets his chance.

The game is over, now we can get back to work… Lol.

In more important news, Popovich extended. All is well in YDS world again!

Too bad we won’t have a Germany vs Holland final game. Argentina, despite Messi, has turned all games into a tactical snoozefest. It would take a miracle for the final to be exciting. If Argentina prevails, it would be the second WC in a row with the winner being a low scoring team.

That was one of the more boring games I’ve watched. I sure hope the final is a good one.

I think Germany will win the final.

Germany will score.

Go, Spurs, go! Everyone’s coming back!

Rooting for the German team!

I really like Messi, but I haven’t liked the way Argentina has won for the most part. If they play like they have for most of the tournament, I don’t think I can be enthusiastic about them winning it.

I’m rooting for the German team also. This makes USA very close to the top.

“This makes USA very close to the top.”

How so? Because of the Germany-USA score? Oh, wait…are you pulling my leg? I get that a lot! :">

You mean you didn’t get that logic?
