World cup 2014

Question: when a player is sent off with a red, is he required to sit on the bench and watch the result of his actions on his teammates, or is he banished to the locker room where he doesn’t have to be up close and personal with the consequences of his behavior?

Has to leave the field completely. Banished.

Cameroon has a history of red cards.

BTW, Croatian spacing on the field is an example of how to do it.

Excluded cannot be in the official area, field, or bench. He or she will be in locker room or in the stands with the public. Substituted players can stay on the bench.

Thanks!

Seeing the two Cameron players going after each other brings this scene to mind:

<a href=“Football - Dyer - Bowyer Fight - YouTube”>Football - Dyer - Bowyer Fight - YouTube;

Well, Spain went out with barely a wimper. I’m disappointed, of course, but not too surprised. When I went over for the Champions League Final in May, most of my Spanish friends and family had no expectations of another title. They were simply hoping for a good showing, but even that didn’t happen.

Cameroon?? What was that?

Hoping for good games today, the first day of the Felipe VI reign.

I wonder people can watch NFL 3 times a day, 7 days a week like watching FIFA.

Uruguay goal after England was knocking on the door for several minutes. Wayne Rooney has to get it going.

Rooney was due. Nice tap in.

It’s a shame the ref didn’t send off Godin with a second yellow… would have been a different game.

BTW, I have definitely watched the NFL games in one day. :). I know. I need help.

“I wonder people can watch NFL 3 times a day, 7 days a week like watching FIFA.”

^ My H would and I often watch the tennis all day every day. Next two weeks for me is going to a beast as Wimby is on from 6am until about 4ish along with WC.

Do any of you all remember the 3 day tennis match? I think we watched a whole lot of that match.

Of course! Isner-Mahut

One week in and Spain and England are out. (Well… England is mathematically alive but they are 95+% in the coffin.)

Portugal looked like Cr@p.

I think this tourney is likely to be won by one of the following:

Brazil
Argentina
Colombia
Uruguay

Italy
Germany
Holland
France

Hopefully some US players will read this post (or others like it) and make it chalkboard material.

Kind of surprised Japan hasn’t gotten more going with Greece down to 10 men.

I love how the British announcers phrase things: “OH! And another chance for Japan goes begging!”

And when a player dives or fakes an injury, they say, “Well, that’s rather cynical.”

The announcing of EPL games is a joy. They are less cheerleading in style with more wit.

yes, I also love the European soccer announcers!

here’s a few good ones: <a href=“Ray Hudson - Greatest Soccer Commentator Ever! - YouTube”>Ray Hudson - Greatest Soccer Commentator Ever! - YouTube;

that Uruguay player definitely should’ve gotten a 2nd yellow. I’m sure if he hadn’t already had one, the ref would’ve pulled out the yellow immediately.

“Genuine injury” vs OEM injury?
