Wow dramatic finish. Congrats to USA

UnStoppAble

Knockout rounds won’t be as easy as Algeria though

Algeria wasn’t easy!! Go USA. Gotta Skype w/kids in Europe now.

Yeah!!!

What an incredible, incredible game.

I’ve got to find my dog…he must be hiding under a bed upstairs…I screamed so much I’m surprised the neighbors haven’t called the police!

Silly, irrational superstitions that may have worked: ditched the t-shirt that I wore for the first two draws, wore a white shirt, navy shorts, red sandals, plus a USA scarf. Remembered to put the flag up outside…but had to watch it alone here, while husband and daughter cheated at work and watched online.

Now what do I need to do to produce the miracle of Australia in second place in Group D? :)

USA! USA! Whooo!!!

Superstitious here, too. I did not see the big US comeback when they were down 0-2 so I decided that I shouldn’t watch the final minutes against Algeria. Instead, I came to CC and saw nysmile’s post #318 and knew that I could turn it back on. Now, should I watch the beginning of the next round or should I just hang out on CC?

Tough call, lotsofquests.

But fortunately the only superstitions that matter are the players’, though I don’t know if soccer players are as crazy as baseball players. I vote for you to watch every second of Saturday’s match!

Great victory after all these legit goals called back. We don’t know who’s our opponent yet, but it won’t be easy whether we are facing Germany, Ghana or Serbia.

I had been listening in my office - MURDER to listen and not watch! But just saw the replay while at the fitness center - wow. Must say it also choked me up to see a legend like Landon overcome with emotion - even a great can be humbled. :)

abasket, I, too, had to listen on the radio. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I actually cried when we scored.

We don’t have cable so I watch online, but AT&T picked the last half of the game to do service on the phone lines, and I saw nothing. It was painful.

I have the luxury of 6 channels to watch, but all were out for some time due to storms, so I hade to resort to computer, too.

An Algerian player went down right outside the penalty box late in the game and the Algerian team seemed pretty miffed that a penalty kick wasn’t awarded. So I’m sure that the Algerian news will be complaining about that.

Still, that was pretty dramatic–having to win and not doing so in regulation play! The Algerians were a pretty scrappy counter-punching team I thought…

Bring on Ghana!

OK, I downloaded the vuvzela app on my Blackberry and was obnoxious with it :)

It would definitely make a great alarm sound!

Very happy for Ghana. Should be an exciting rematch against the U.S.

When is the US/Ghana game?
