One thing you notice quickly. Belgium is taller/bigger. You can’t teach height. 
Well, post-Germany’s departure I took a bit of a break from the WC. This second half of Belgium-Japan has been like 4 or 5 Round of 16 matches rolled into one. Really entertaining.

Belgium-Brazil should be an excellent match. That Belgium team is HUGE. That #9 Lakaku is a massive human being. I’m really impressed.
That 3rd Belgian goal was pure beauty, just stunning to watch.
This is the 4th WC our family has watched, starting with when our now college player started having his world revolve around the sport. Of course, our kids are passionate fans of different national teams, and they bait each other constantly. But that is part of the fun, so to speak.

I looked up Lakaku’s stats. He’s 6’3" and 207 lbs. For comparison, Jozy Altidore who’s a big guy and plays Forward for the US National team is 6’1" and 174 lbs.
Lakaku is a linebacker. That’s a “weapon” out there on the pitch. He has to be careful not to mow someone over out there.
Too bad Gronk doesn’t play soccer. That would be fun to watch.

That Belgian counterattack felt so inevitable as they flew down the field. Gorgeous.
It reminded me of the US - Algeria game where our keeper made a similar roll to the US team and Donovan finished to win the game right at the end.
On ESPN tonight, the analyst said that the Belgium counter attack covered 114 yards in 13 seconds. That’s world class sprinter speed. ^:)^
Worrisome for Belgium is not their offense. That’s high octane. But they gave up two goals to Japan and Brazil, their next opponent, is not Japan. I can’t wait for that match.
