To Hell with the Eyeties.

I can’t wait for england v. portugal on saturday

Collina, that crazy-eyed skeletor Italian ref, retired, unfortunately.

The Italian football team loves to concoct insane conspiracy theories that work against poor Italy, so let’s see how they take this. Chances are that they will cry and moan about the red card and belittle anybody who questions the validity of the penalty kick in extra time.

I want Sheva to completely dismantle Nesta’s defense. haha…and England better beat Portugal…

That was the most obvious dive ever…im talking about Strellar; worse than Didier Drogba

Penalties blow…Switzerland totally dominated the entire match they should be through. They could have definitely given Italy a better game than Ukraine who is going to get ****ed in the ass by Italy.

They should play extra time until someone scores a goal or until a player dies lol…team whose player dies first loses.

A) My bracket is being smashed
B) If you think that Brazil is going to beat Ghana as they did Japan I believe you are wrong; Ghana does not stink nearly as much as Japan.
I will not make anymore brazen predictions.

Italy vs. Ukraine… Ukraine doesn’t push at all, leaving Shevchenko by himself, and Italy is Italy.

Worst quarterfinal game by far, England vs. Portugal and Argentina vs. Germany will probably both be much better games, and I’d love to see Brazil vs. France, but any matchup there should be exciting, and then you have a second tier team vs. a boring bunch of divers.

Brazil should beat Ghana, but probably not 4-1…

England will beat Portugal, have faith!

I don’t know I though both sides stunk equally. Very slow game, no rhythm. Either of them would be killed by Italy, no question about it.

I call a 2 goal differential against Ghana in the B vs G game.

What is up with the sucking of the thumbs? After Totti scored, he started sucking his thumb…I think I’ve seen before when people score, but…why!?!

And can someone explain the taking off & switching of the shirts after the game? Is it just tradition or does it mean something?

The Ukraine-Swiss game was just dull…for that matter so was the Italian one. This bracket sucks. Crappy teams get to play each other while Germany and Argentina face off…–;

As I would have said above had Australia beaten Italy they may have made the semifinals given the weak quarterfinal opponent (especially now with Ukraine there).

They could have…depends though.

Whats left:
Brazil beats Ghana
Spain beats France

Quarters:
Germany beats Argentina
Italy beats Ukraine
England beats Portugal
Brazil beats Italy

Semis:
Germany beats Italy
Brazil beats England

Germany over Brazil in the final…I dont wanna be bandwagon here ![]()
Just my revised bracket…after all the carnage that just happened in the 2nd round.

well Brazil just beat Ghana 3-0.
Ronaldo scored his 15th goal… most goals in world cup history.

go Ronaldo; Woohoo

allez les bleusss

Bahhh, **** France…ahaha, every player that scored a goal for them also got booked

Viera deserved to be booked, I am not so sure Zidane deserved it though.

Spain played a better match and controlled the tempo…the score definitely does not reflect the actual performance. France got some lucky breaks. I hope they get destroyed by Brasil.

I disagree Bern, the tempo was even. Spain is younger and quicker, but France is more talented. Few teams have answers to Thuram, Zidane and Henry. Spain and France should not have scored in the first half, as Spain got a favorable call in the box and Henry was offsides when Ribery scored. However, the two French goals in the second half were ligit. France was just the better team today.

And Brazil, who is 0-3 vs France in the World Cup in the modern era, is not going to “destroy” France. Nobody can destroy France unless the French self-destruct. France has allowed just 1 offensive goal (vs Korea) in the last 7 games. Mexico, Denmark (friendlies), Switzerland and Spain simply couldn’t score offensively. Brazil is an excellent team and will probably win, but it won’t be a 4-0 affair. I’d be very surprised if Brazil beat France by more than 2 goals. The real question mark is Zidane. He is obviously the most talented football player on Earth today, but he is old and he is not as driven. But his performance against Spain indicates that he still has something to prove. If that’s the case, I’d say France is going to be very tough to beat.

“Henry was offsides when Ribery scored”

Nope, new FIFA rule says that if another player is offside as long as he doesn’t go for the ball (stays still, as henry did) he is considered “passive” in the play and therefore the offside isn’t called.
