<p>Is that really true? I hope so. In practice AP Multiple Choice tests I miss ~7 questions each time.</p>
<p>In “The Official SAT Subject Tests in U.S. and World History Study Guide”, -18 to -20 is a 800, so yes.</p>

<p>^Pretty sure he was using the blue collegeboard subject test book. That’s the curve I’ve heard for world history from it. Other prep books often tend to have misleading curves.</p>

<p>That’s the same thing I was thinking. -20 and still 800 seems like such a ridiculous curve.</p>
<p>I’ll have to double check but I don’t believe that’s true. I think it’s more like 10-12 missed (not raw score). But if you’re only missing 7 then you’ll definitely be able to make an 800.</p>
<p>-18 to -20 seems right for SATII World History, mainly due to the fact that is very challenging.</p>
<p>I must agree with the fact that SATII World History is fairly challenging. I have taken the World History AP exam and I actually felt that the SATII test (practice exam released from college board) is actually almost as challenging as the AP exam. I also felt that many questions on the practice SATII test that I took was fairly similar to the questions to the Barron’s book. I thought a lot of the materials were factual, and it’s either you know it or you don’t.
However, I feel that the -18 to-20 range seems ridiculous. 800 is the “perfect” score, and getting a 79% (75 out of 95) on an SAT should not be a “perfect score”. Keep in mind that the curve for a 5 on the AP test is in fact around 72%.</p>

<p>Looked at a practice test and thought it was way harder than the AP…extremely specific. I backed out, taking literature instead. Reading poetry for a Saturday morning is better than trying to recall minute historical facts, anyway. :)</p>
<p>It really seems challenging? I picked it because I thought it seemed easy, and the closest I’ve had to a “World History” course since 9th grade was AP Art History.</p>
<p>While at first I thought -18 to -20 might seem ridiculous for getting an 800… after taking a bunch of practice tests it doesn’t seem so ridiculous anymore. The questions are really specific and in my opinion even harder than the AP exam.
I tried Kaplan’s and PR practice tests and both were really difficult, but I was working on the practice test in the collegeboard subject test practice book, and I felt those weren’t as hard… so hopefuly Kaplan’s and PR are just unusually difficult…
I’m taking the test this Saturday… and I am really nervous about it.</p>
