Hi, the link below will have all of my stats/information. Just ignore the fact that its for Duke. I did not want to retype everything or waste a ton of space by copying/pasting.

You want to be an engineer and you got a 29 on the science section of the ACT? Either take it again or apply to another school because that is definitely an eye sore.

I agree its an embarrassing subscore.
I’m not sure if you are familiar with the ACT, but the science section doesn’t exactly test scientific knowledge - more like inferencing. At least that was the case for both of my tests.
I’m planning on majoring in BME, so would a strong Bio (E or M) SAT II compensate for my relatively poor ACT “science” score?

Regardless of whether or not it’s actually science… it’s pretty basic stuff (at least when I took it, maybe they’ve made it harder since then). You should study harder for it and then take it again. It just sticks out a lot.

Yeah, I’ll definitely consider the retake. Plus I’d really like a 34 haha.
Any other opinions? I have not written my supplement essay yet, so I’m still considering WCAS as a possibility.

what act score does it take to get accepted into mccormick? does anyone know the ACT mid 50 spread of the last freshman class for NU’s McCormick college of engineering?

For NU as a whole ,I see that it is 30-30, if I recall. I have not been able to see the breakout amongst the different schools of NU. UIUC publishes this data.
