Worried about financial aid next year

I work to help support my family and I’m worried about whether I’ll be able to juggle college and working as some of my merit scholarships expire after this year.

This was an interesting argument I saw.

Anyone think there’s a chance that financial aid will become more generous?

Runner, those students who go to schools like Penn that do meet full need are the luckiest ones. There are many, many more students who simply cannot even think about going away to college. They don’t have the stats to get a full need met as those kind of packages tend to come from the most selective schools and when given out by other colleges tend to go to the top students, not the neediest ones. So, no I do not think financial aid will become more generous over all except possibly in the cases of the very top schools where special funds and scholarships can be set up. That is truly a drip in the bucket, not even a drop.

Runner…what school do you go to? Does it promise to meet need?

What is your EFC?

If you can, work as much as you can during the summer.
