Worried about GPA

I have a 3.37 GPA and a 31 ACT. I take two AP classes and I’m borderline failing them. It’s already February of my junior year and I have no clue what to do. Help!

What’s going wrong in the AP classes?

There are a lot of universities and colleges in the US. In one sense having a 3.37 has the advantage that it takes “prestige” off the table, and will cause you to focus on schools that are a good fit for you – which is what all high school students should have been focusing on in the first place.

You can get into an appropriate university or college with a 3.37 GPA, and you can find one that is a good fit.

You will need to work hard to bring up your grades in your two AP classes. What are they? Have you been getting help after class (possibly after school) from your teacher or from a tutor? Try to do homework ahead of the class. Then when you attend classes you will already at least know where you had trouble, which may help you pick up more in class. If you can then sit near the front of class, and pay attention at all times.

What is your state? For many students with a 3.37 GPA there are very appropriate in-state public universities which would be a good fit.

For next year, I would only take AP classes if there are some that are very interesting to you and in a subject which is one of your strongest subjects. Even with this I would stick to only one or at most two.
