worried about postdoc placement rate

i’ve been looking into molecular biology grad schools, and UC Berkeley seems like a really good program BUT, according to graduate-school.phds.org, they have a mere 53% job placement rate upon graduation: http://graduate-school.phds.org/rankings/biochemistry/rank?w3=5&w1=5&w10=5&w7=5

that is really alarming and strange since they have very reputable faculty and numerous citations. do you think it’s just an error?

also, does anyone have any suggestions for molecular biology graduate programs? thanks!

It may very well be an error, but despite Berkeley’s high rank, the students who ended up matriculating there my year were not the strongest – Berkeley got the students who didn’t get into Harvard, Stanford, MIT, and UCSF.

Berkeley’s MCB program is also larger than many of the other top schools in molecular biology.
