Worried about Test Scores and Extra Curriculars

I’m male and caucasian

ACT: 29
GPA: 3.9 weighted (around 3.7 unweighted but that’s a guess)
By the time i graduate i’ll have taken 4 AP courses and 1 honors

In football i was:
A Senior Capitan
All Conference
3 year letterman
Academic All state

I swam for one year
Student senate for two years
Volunteered at youth football camps to teach fundamentals to kids
I’ve worked three separate jobs

I participated in a We the People competition and my group placed second overall in a competition that included 4 other schools with around 10 groups from each school

I was an academic letterman

I’ll be applying to Stern but i’m really worried about my ECs. Compared to most of the people who have posted their stats on this forum, they seem a little bit weak. How much of an influence might they have on the decision?

I’m also worried about the fact that in order to get in two SAT II’s and my ACT writing test i have to be on standby for the next sessions for both of them. So in other words there’s a chance i won’t even be able to take the tests.

Assuming that i do get in to both tests, and i do decent on both the SAT II’s and the ACT, do my chances seem decent?

Also, i wrote my application essay on football and what it has done for my character. Does this topic seem like a good one or does it seem a bit cheesy or cliche?

nyu dosn’t really care as nearly as much as other schools do about sports
Nyu is d3

Well sports are my only decent ECs

If you are saying that i shouldn’t write about how football has strengthened my character i have other topics in mind too.

football is a great EC. Especially being a captain and all the other stuff. But it isn’t a hook because as he said NYU is a d3 school. Still I’d put it down as an EC. I think how you write your essay will determine it’s quality. The topic is cliche but if you can pull it off more power to you. I think you’ve got an awesome chance to most schools in NYU but Stern might be a reach.
