worried the intro to my "why transfer" essay is too cynical/negative

sorry for creating two threads in a row. I am about to submit my applications and am getting cold feet on a couple of essays. the essay begins with an unpleasant experience I had with an administrator of my current school, which I cite as symbolic for my reasons for transferring. is this a bad approach?

I totally agree with Alan Gelb, author of Conquering the College Admissions Essay in 10 Steps, who says that you should NEVER boast, complain, or apologize. That is an excellent rule. So… I would say: not a good way to start… UNLESS you can use it without complaining about it and then in the essay show how you grew, were transformed, became a stronger person and decided to do something about it. Even a transfer essay needs to say something about you and your positive character development.
