Have you ever had that feeling that you’re the one who gets shafted for everything you try to do? Well today, JMU waitlisted me and my 3.79 GPA. They did that to me as a senior too. I honestly hate that university with a burning passion. Two years in a row they’ve shafted me. But anyway, do you think the fact that they waitlisted me means that I’m not going to get into UNC, UVa, or Virginia Tech? I should also not that the JMU admissions office refused to look at the letters from my professor because my application ID number wasn’t on them.

It sounds like you need a beer.

vol I’ve already told you, in your case there is probably nothing to worry about.

You know what. Beer is where its at. Thanks.

vol, don’t worry. it happens to a lot of people. ur not alone sigh i know a guy who had a 4.0 in hs and got rejected from berkeley, and got a 4.0 at community college and got rejected from berkeley.

what school are you at right now?

damn… I got into JMU with a 3.4. Did you not take a balanced course load with math science, english, etc, like i know in the JMU forum one guy said he got rejected but he hadn’t taken any math or science classes.

I finished up my freshman english requirements with dual enrollment my senior year. I finished my math requirement last semester, and I’m in my last section of science this semester. I have no idea why I wasn’t accepted outright. Its really confusing.

i dont think thats any indication of what the other shcools will decide…jmu is one of those schools with occasional off the wall decisions

**** JMU. They rejected me, and I’m VA instate with a 1930 SAT. JMU thinks they can compete with UVA and *, but they’re so *ing inconsistent with their admissions I wouldn’t waste my time or effort reapplying there for transfer. Try somewhere like UVA or William and Mary. UVA especially has a pretty high transfer rate.

I appreciate all of yalls comments. Thanks!

i’ve never even heard of james madison university. well, i have, but i thought it was a mediocre school

and waitlist isn’t as bad as getting flat out rejected. do you know of how many waitlisted students get accepted later on?

They got put in the Princeton Review a few years ago and lately they’ve come to think of themselves as a UVa type school. I applied because of the women.

Well, all things get rectified in the end- I just got into Va Tech. Figure that one out.

Don’t apply to William and Mary. Not many people like it here but they stay cuz it’s a good school and it’s cheap.

I’m really surprised by that, and I would consider writing a letter asking for them to review or having proffs. write on your behalf.
