Worst Ivy School

It all depends on what program one is looking for. Cornell has engineering, Penn has Wharton, etc. Overall, though, I’d say the worst Ivy for undergraduate is Penn.

Using shellzie’s logic: Cornell has engineering which is beaten by other schools. What beats Wharton? NOTHING.

absolutely!!! So i can attest to the rigor and strength of the programs as well as the incredible amount of employment opportunities that are available from the largest alumni network in the ivy league.

I also have friends at every single ivy league school, so i can relate my academic and social experiences with theirs. It’s unfortunate, but the 3 people i know at Dartmouth do not like it there. Perhaps they’re just being delusional.

DiamondT is just ****ed because i called him for making a completely ■■■■■■■■ statement about the ivy league in another thread. It’s not my fault MIT’s football team is not up to ivy league standard ;)

Dude, the 500 people I know who go to or went to Dartmouth LOVE it.

i dont know 500 people that go there. Just 3, and for some reason or another they’re not very impressed. I still thing it’s an absolutely fantastic school, but i’m running by the opinions of 3 students i’ve known since high school. I forget their particular reasons, but they’re a tough crowd to please in the first place.

This thread is stupid.

come to consider it, i’d probably replace dartmouth with brown. Penn stays there though.

AcceptedAlready, I did say “overall”- if you want business and get in- go to Wharton!!! Engineering, then Cornell is a good choice among the Ivies (of course MIT and Caltech would be better…). One department isn’t enough to make a school the best. If that logic were used, then Princeton would be the best AND Harvard would be the best AND UPenn AND…I was assuming this thread was about the worst Ivy overall. Anyway, it IS a silly question, and its even sillier to sit here and argue about it.

:(

Fine…fine…I concede…Stupid question.

I’ll be direct about it…Where should I go? Brown, Upenn (CAS) or Cornell!?

Yeah kinda stupid thread. This is like choosing the worst city in the world and your only 3 choices are New York City, Paris, and London.

it is cornell.

brown isnt bad at all.

definitely Paris

greatguru - tell us what you want to major in, what type of student body you’re looking for, what type of location, and so forth. Penn may be perfect for some students and not for others - we need to know a little more about what you’re looking for in a school. In my opinion, excluding a school because it’s the “worst” ivy is just another way of being a prestige whore.

I agree- it’s definitely Paris. Give us some more info on what you are looking for in a school, guru and perhaps you can steer the thread away from the individual bias being shared here. On a positive note- your thread did catch people’s attention!

hehehe…yeah. I guess it did!

Well, I want to go into welfare economics, and study mathematics as well since they’re sort of interdisciplinary. I’ll probably pursue them academically later on as well…I might even want to teach one of these subjects later on.

And I really don’t mean to be a prestige whore, but my dad is being REALLY scary about this whole decision with constant speeches on “career prospects” and “prestige” and “college is not just about fun” and so on…you get the picture? I don’t want to go to Brown, have the time of my life, and realize four years later on that I would have had a far larger number of firms wanting to hire me IF i had gone to Upenn. I don’t want to end up going to Upenn and realize that Brown was the college for me. I DON’T want to Cornell because it’s geographically isolated, PERIOD.

Well…whenever I asked people for advice they’d just say “they’re equally good”…I just wanted people to blatantly reveal their own opinion on which Ivy is the worst. So…what would you guys say?

I am not sure which is the worst but I think you should go to Brown.

i’d throw in a vote for brown as well

Arguing over which Ivy is the worst is like arguing over which BMW is the worst.

this is an odd thread. if ivys were bad then no one would apply to them.

I get it!! :(

It’s a stupid thread. Three good universities…Which one should I go to?

Personally, I would go to Brown…but that’s just me.
