Another bad one; The Blair Witch Project. I remember falling asleep during it, so much for it being scary.

My pick for all time worst movie:

Popeye…starring Robin Williams…only movie I ever walked out of. yucch :(

yes, yes, yes!! Totally agree.

And also agree on BWP. What a waste of my time; coudln’t wait for it to end.

That’s funny. I liked it, but didn’t think it was nearly as good as the books. (And it was annoying the way they combined books.) However my 11 year old son came out of it saying it was the best movie he’d ever seen.

Worst movie I’ve seen in my life - Eraserhead.

Worst movie I’ve seen lately - The American. I think Clooney was just looking for a way to get paid while living in his house in Italy.

Bonus worst movie - the first Pokemon movie. I got dragged to that by my S when he was 8. On the way out he asked me “What was your favorite part?” My smart-@ss reply was “the part I slept through”, which got a laugh from every parent in hearing distance.

^LOL. I don’t think I saw the first Pokemon movie, but I can assure you the second one was just as bad if not worse!

Blair Witch Project - one of the most disappointing movies. Black Swan also very disappointing. I love scary movies and I don’t like it when movies threaten to be and don’t deliver.

My friend’s nanny took all the kids to see Pokemon 3 times, she swore she’d quit if we asked her to go one more time. I am ashamed to admit we tricked my husband into taking them. He slept through the whole thing, thankfully.

This is certainly showing what’s so great about the movies. There’s something for everyone! I am also a Fargo/Pulp Fiction/Rocky Horror fan. I liked Black Swan. And I actually enjoyed the first Pokemon movie, which I took my kids to see oh-so-long ago. I cried like a baby when Pikachu thought Ash was dead!

I slept through Pokemon too!

I’ve only been to the movie theater twice in the last 25 years - once for ‘The Little Mermaid’ and once for ‘Harry Potter’ and you can guess why I went to those. I actually went to the movies a lot before that but I guess I lost interest once I had kids. I’ve also always been too lazy to go out of my way to rent a movie so I wouldn’t usually see them until they were on HBO/Showtime or TV.

By the looks of this thread, I’ve fortunately missed a lot of lousy movies.

I stand by my assessment of Kramer vs. Kramer but that movie in particular was targeted at a female audience IMO perhaps explaining why I disliked it but others here liked it. Beyond this disparity are the movies that have a comprehensive lack of appeal.

WaterWorld = Bad

When the kids were younger and I was terribly sleep deprived, I made no attempt to stay awake during those kinds of movies. I’m sure I slept through almost all of the Rug Rats movie.

^You missed out. :P

The only movies I’ve walked out of were Master and Commander and the live action jungle book movie. I was really, really disappointed by Master and Commander.

I’m with Garland on “My Dinner with Andre” – recommended by a friend who I have so much in common with it’s scary; she loved it, H and I hated it. For over 20 years whenever someone asks “what’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen” it’s an easy answer.

We also hated Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Saw it during that time when we were always the ones traveling to every other relative for every holiday and it was so not funny (or fun) to see what was supposed to be a comedy parallel our real lives and not in a good way.

Ooh ooh! Forgot to mention Inception! The older I get the more (i.e., the shorter my life expectancy) the more I resent having two hours of my life stolen by overblown baloney like that movie. I actually started making out my grocery list in my head about halfway through when I realized that nothing made sense and I couldn’t care less whether anyone was dreaming or not. I’m convinced the movie was just a giant joke played on the world by the director, who is laughing all the way to the bank.

Unluckily for me, one summer day, DD was flipping through the channels and was intrigued by Snakes on a plane. I was stuck watching it (mostly hearing swearing, loud noises and screams) because I was cooking in the kitchen nearby. I do not even have the words to describe how horrible this movie is. I never go to an action flick or a comedy without thoroughly researching the reviews, because normally these two categories have a higher % of unwatchable junk.

*Master and Commander * is one of my H’s favorite movies. In a nutshell, the movie is about teamwork, leadership and decision-making without the corporate BS lingo :). I liked it, too.

*Eyes Wide Sut *and A.I. were horrid.

Untraceable…movie about cyber crime starring Diane Lane (not sure if I spelled her name right). Dad rented it, and me and mom both left the room after a scene where they show a man sitting in a vat of essentially battery acid and actually show his skin peeling off. Ugh.

Agree with Bicentennial Man. My sister and I saw it at the mall while dad was Christmas shopping…we couldn’t wait for it to end. Told each other at the end that we both wanted to walk out, but thought the other was interested, so we stayed.

See Spot Run…saw it with my mom when I was young. We thought it would be cute, but it was just boring.

I don’t like Rocky Horror…I just don’t get the point.

Paranormal Activity…the first one. It wasn’t scary at all until the last few minutes, and even then it wasn’t necessarily scary, just eerie because of the girl screaming her head off in that horrific way. I can still hear it in my head typing this. I don’t find the whole demon possession thing interesting or entertaining. My friends keep trying to get me to watch the sequel…I refuse.

The WORST movie I ever saw was Pink Floyd’s The Wall. I didn’t understand anything and it just left me with an eerie/depressed feeling for days afterwards.

“My Dinner With Andre” is definitely the worst film my hubby and I have ever seen. Since seeing it, my husband groans out load every time he sees Wallace Shawn in anything else.

My son and husband love Master and Commander. They must have seen it 30 times. Anyone see Gone Baby Gone? Excellent.
