I am going to be applying as a junior to several of the elite schools. I have been given the chance to take AP Physics 1 as a sophomore. It is typically a senior/junior class. Is it worth taking the class next year to give me an edge over other candidates? Or should I just take soph. chemistry?
Well, depending upon where you are thinking of applying to college, you will most likely need to take chemistry at some point. Whether you take it as a sophomore or a junior, it really does not matter. In the same vein, it does not matter what year you take physics. Will taking AP Physics 1 as a sophomore give, as you say, an edge? Absolutely not.
