<p>30 year old in CC, obtained GED, no SAT/ACT, 90+ credits in Associates Bio curriculum, 3.4 (~3.5 GPA if I do well my last quarter).
Live in WA state, but want to go into cognitive science/biopsychology. Schools here don’t offer it, UC’s basically all do and are kind of the “go-to” for that area of study.
3.5 GPA in all Bio, 3.9 GPA in all psych courses, did …eh… “OK” in chem (3.1 maybe?), all stats and math I did pretty well (mostly A’s, two B’s). </p>
<p>I missed the application for UC this year because I had to finish foreign language first (also, didn’t know it was only for 1 month!). I’ve applied to other uni’s (UW, OSU, ASU) already. Not super excited about any of them because they don’t offer cog-sci.</p>
<p>I’ve seriously considered working and taking a couple extra classes out of pocket here (still need to do physics) and waiting until Nov. to apply for UC.
I’ve also actually considered moving to CA and doing the same at a community college there to increase my chances of acceptance as a “california resident”. This is kind of difficult with a fiance and a 3 year old son.</p>
<p>Recommendations?
Do I even stand a chance?
Am I insane for focusing so intently on UC?</p>
