Worth it?

Is it worth it to be passionate about politics? Is it worth getting disappointed every time you see the candidate you want to win fall back a little bit? I ask if its worth it because how many of you think you really have a voice in politics if you’re not working in that area? I’d like to see people’s perspectives, both positive and negative.

yeah, life sucks

wow this is a depressing post…I’ll add…
we’re all going to die one day and then none of this is going to matter.

You most likely don’t have a voice in politics. The victor is chosen by the collective mob. Might as well not stress over it.

while the glass is half-empty, let me add that there is in fact an afterlife, but it includes perpetual reruns of Gigli and Tim Allen’s mugshot playing ad infinitum on a noisy projector that’s been deliberately calibrated to be slightly fuzzy.

and in the afterlife you are likely to meet the resurrected dunkaroo s which should prove to be a bonus treat while lazy boying it and playing ping-pong against the transparent reflection of the long-lost memory of Fred Flinstone

There is more to politics than the horse race you describe. Politics does include campaigns and elections, but also the intergovernmental works. I think it is important to know what is happening on not only the federal level, but the state level as well. Once you get into and know what’s happening, it only becomes more interesting. So yes, it is worth it.

Note: I am quite biased as I am obsessed with politics. =)

whats the point in being so passionate about sports when you will never play on the team therefore never being able to reap the benefits from winning?

some people just enjoy it
