Well I have a stats prep boo and I’m taking both ap calc and stats as a senior. Since I’m takin both I wanted to atleast practice stats beforehand but I heard it is ridiculously easy, so is it even worth the time? Is it an easy concept to grasp when u actually tale the course? Thanks!

I meant to say prep book my bad

A lot of stats is remembering/plugging in formulas and using your calculator. It’s a very straightforward subject, but there are a lot of conditions/tests and stuff you need to know. It can’t hurt to read through some of the early chapters, but stats is easy and you don’t need to.

Don’t
I took stats as a sophomore- it wasn’t that bad. DON’T STUDY FOR IT. Study for calc or precalc or something, lulz.

I also took Stat and Calc BC as a senior. Stats is easier than other APs, but there are a lot of conditions that need to be checked and steps that need to be explained if you’re going to get all of the points on those darn FRQs. The little details are really what Stat is about. It isn’t hard to learn, you just have to be able to remember each little part of the checklist as you are working through a problem. You don’t really need to spend any time over the summer because a school year is sufficient to study Stats.

Thanks everyone! I guess I’ll abandon it. lawl

Well actually…don’t do it over the summer, just start studying during winter break up until the exam and you could very easily net a 4 or a 5. I took stats this year, didn’t start studying until maybe 3 weeks before the test, and am fairly confident I passed. :D

Yeah, it’s cause I tend to want to be ahead of the curve. But the school year should suffice right?

if you really want to, just get a stats book and skim over it for like an hour or so. previewing the course before you take it really is helpful

I’d study for another AP instead.
