worth the money?

So I have received accpetance letters (or that i have been nominated) from “Who’s who among American High school Students” and “The National Society of High school Scholars”
it says that They both have college referral systems, scholarship opportunities and other benefits…but at a cost.
I honestly don’t know too much about these programs, and my question is are these progrmas something i really should look into… is it worth the cost? (is it really going to help me in my college applications)…
I don’t want to put in money to just get a “congratulations” certificate…
anyone familiar with these two programs?

Is this one of the things where they get your PSAT/SAT scores and send out mass mailings? I have like 400 emails from random colleges because of that. The same ones bug me over and over again.

i looked up some programs like that on wikipedia and it says they are scams. if you have to pay for scholarship oppertunities, it is a scam. your money will be invested better if you give the nigerian prince your bank info so he can give you one million dollars. if you want scholarship oppertunities, talk to your guidence counselor. if s/he isnt good, talk to teachers. your college admissions counsellor may give you a list of scholarships students at his/her school have recieved over the years. all those options are free. the only cost you would have to pay to apply for a legit scholarship is the postage.

it’s a scam, don’t do it. and don’t give them your grandparents’ or other family addresses too, otherwise these scammers will solicit them. if you already did, warn your family. it’s a waste of money. if you have that kind of money to throw around, donate it.
