Would a current student be able to go into a professional school?

I’m prospecting to be in the USC SCA, although it’s too late for me to fill out the application (bummer). Would I still be able to get into the school if I’m accepted into USC and then apply for the school 2nd semester of my freshmen year?

It is possible to transfer into the SCA, but it takes talent, tenacity and hard work. First, spaces only open up due to attrition so not sure there would be any opening in freshman year, you’d have to check with the SCA admissions people when you get there. The criteria for acceptance into the program will be the same as it is for new applicants–so you’ll need to put together all the additional essays, writing samples, creative resume, LORs, and/or sample of work (you can check what’s required on the website) and then decisions are based on the creative supplement for the SCA major you desire. Internal transfer prospects will be considered along with other transfer applicants in terms of demonstrating potential for the few spaces that open up, but it may be a little easier for existing SC students.

Here’s why: If you are a student at USC you may still register for many of the intro courses for the SCA major. If you do well in those classes and get to know your professor, it could help you in trying to transfer in. In any case, USC students can always declare a minor in SCA and take many of the same classes as the majors.
