Would an Interview Give Me an Edge?

I had an interview with the local representative from penn in January. It went pretty well, I feel like i came off as a very multidimensional, diverse individual. Do you think this would have given me an edge as opposed to someone who didnt have one? I was also selected as a finalist for the QuestBridge scholarship program; could this have helped me with admission?

Interviews don’t do anything. My dad’s an interviewer and I know they’re constantly frustrated that what they do doesn’t help and most of the people that they interview get rejected. It wouldn’t be fair if it would give you a competitive edge, think about the people who can’t get an interview.

The only thing you can read from getting an interview is that they haven’t already ruled you out.

If there is something amazing that came up in your interview that wasn’t in your application I guess it could help but I feel like if it was that amazing a thing, you would have included it in your application or sent an update if it was something new.
