My academic credentials and test scores are basically perfect (4.0, 12 AP classes with all 5s so far, 2380 on SAT), and my extracurriculars (youth symphony, key club, NHS, math team, knowledge bowl, was volunteer for local state senate campaign) are well above average as well, so I think if my essays are good I have a decent chance at getting into Yale.

My personal statement is about my struggle to master the Bartok Viola concerto (one of the hardest pieces in the literature) and I’m hoping to highlight my resolve and willingness to challenge myself.

My Yale supplement essay is about how I helped teach an Alternative PE (ie special ed) in 9th grade and how it shaped my perceptions about the mentally challenged.

They aren’t anywhere near perfect yet, but would anyone be willing to take a look at them? Any suggestions/criticisms would be welcome. I’ll PM the essays to whoever would like to see them.
