would colleges take fluctuating exchange rates into account for financial aid?

I’m an international; the exchange rate between US and my country is approximately 1 USD = 1.4 SGD. Problem is, it has been as high as 1 USD = 1.8 SGD before, and I don’t expect it to stay as low as 1.4 in the future. When the exchange rate does rise during my college years, would the financial aid office take that into account and lower my EFC in US dollars to offset the rise in the exchange rate?

My current EFC is 5000 USD = 7000 SGD at the current rate. if it rises to 1.8, my family will have to pay an EFC of 9000 SGD. 2000 SGD is like my dad’s monthly salary, so it’s a huge difference.

every year you will complete the Profile, which is like a balance sheet in that it totals up the value of your assets at one point in time. Should the exchange rate go against the US$, then next year your family assets will be worth less (after conversion), which could impact your efc.
