I’m a senior now and I will be applying to schools most likely in August/September. I live in Illinois and was wondering about my chances of getting into UIUC.

Ethnicity: Indian

150+ hours of hospital volunteer work
1 year hospital internship ER

Hmmm…probably into the easy majors. but forget about engineering or business. those are out of the question. I dont quite know why you felt you needed to put down income…

I don’t know I just see everybody put it down

maybe for ACES or LAS, but you need to raise your ACT to be safer for even those. Good luck on that today. Apply early when you do apply.

The ACT is fine if you could somehow show improvement in the GPA, but that may be too late.

Might wanna get near a 30 ACT. Seems like u did a lot of volunteering and an internship at 1 place, which shows your love for it, so that works to you advantage b/c you showed that you have a passion for that.

Yeah I do have a passion for medicine, and now I screwed my self over because I woke up at 5:50 (the time had planned on getting up to get ready to go take my ACT) and I turned off my alarm and went back to sleep. It was like my brain was telling me that it’s going to go off again so go back to sleep. That said, I missed it and now have to take it on Sept. 16. So I probably will send in all my stuff early Oct. And since I want to be a doctor I will probably apply in LAS, right???

Yea, if you apply early it gives you a definite edge even though admission “claims” it does not make a major difference and that they don’t do rolling admissions.
