Would I fit?

<p>More like would I fit in at Wesleyan. Haven’t really heard about it before but after reading about it and finding out more, I feel like I could possibly fit here :)</p>

<p>Stats:
-Rising Senior, Female, Hispanic, Southern California
-GPA: 3.75 UW, 4.05 W
-My school hasn’t really told us our rank but I’m pretty sure the top 10%
-Competitive Catholic School
-APs: Spanish Language - 5
Spanish Literature, AP 3D (Ceramics), Government, Literature
-Very focused on my Ceramics class. Excited for AP going to do a concentration on Bolivian-like art.</p>

<p>Testing:
-SAT: 1910 (bleh)
-ACT: 29 (I liked the ACT alot better. Probably going to retake for a 30+)
-Subject Tests:
Spanish: 740
Literature: 640 (beautiful I know. Do I hear retake?)
US History: 680</p>

<p>ECS (My main ones):
-Girl Scouts (11 years): Gold, Silver and Bronze Award. I earned the Gold Award by working with the Ronald McDonald House.
-Guitar (5 years): It’s fun. I’m not amazingly good or anything but I enjoy it
-Volunteering (3 years): I dedicate days I have off to going to a school with a lot of latino children and helping out with the kindergarten classes and I go to project success about 2 times a week. By far my favorite EC, I love those kids so much </p>

<p>Awards and Honors:
-Gold, Silver, Bronze Award (I already said that), Presidential Service Award, National Honors Society, National Art Honors Society.</p>

<p>Extra (Hook I guess):
-I am Latina (Bolivia/El Salvador) and proud . Parents are immigrants and I’m going to be the first in the family to go to college. I learned to speak English in kindergarten and 1st grade.
-200+ community service hours</p>

<p>Job:
-30 hours a week with a preschool program as a student worker :)</p>

<p>Essay:
About getting in touch with my Bolivian culture It’s a work in progress lol
Going to major in Sociology. I want to be a elementary teacher.</p>

<p>about pottery: I’m not sure about formal CFA classes. My suspicion is no – but, there is a group that meets on Main Street that calls itself, “Wesleyan Potters”; they’ve been in existence since 1948 and are pretty prestigious: <a href=“http://www.wesleyanpotters.com/index.shtml[/url]”>http://www.wesleyanpotters.com/index.shtml&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>Really? That would be awesome. I was told to look into Wesleyan and the more I learn about it the more I like it. :slight_smile:
I’m going to retake the ACT btw. aiming for a 30+. fingers crossed ;)</p>
