My school doesn’t do weighted. But for the record, I’ve taken 3 AP classes last year as a sophomore, and I’m taking 2 this year since 2 of my classes didn’t run (I’m taking the AP test without the AP class). Next year I should be in 2, along with Diff. Eq and Calc III at a local university.

You definitely have a great shot at getting in assuming it’s for a more academic field. Now if you’re applying for cinema (which I’m guessing not since you didn’t mention film anywhere), then it’d be a different story since it can be so random for film. But for pretty much everything else, I’d say you have a great shot, maybe even enough to get an interview for scholarships :)

I’m thinking a pre-med track. I know normally this would mean majoring in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry as it seems to fit with the courses required for pre-med. However, after looking at the majors offered at USC, I find myself interested in either Neuroscience or Economics/Mathematics. Would either of those majors potentially hurt my med school chances, even if I stay non the pre-med track?

BigKev…are you aware that USC has the BacMed track? You might think about applying for that when the time comes. It’s very competitive, but you never know. It’s a separate application. If you get in, you are already accepted into USC med school for afterwards, as long as your MCATS are decent.
My D is friends with a BacMd who is actually doing a double major. USC much encourages double majors, or major/minor. If you are interested in Math/Econ…and Neuro or another science field, you could do that.

I meant like its easier to get in for some ethnicities, harder for others, cuz some quotas need to be filled. E.g. the koreans with perfect stats in my school got rejected, while I got in with lower stats.
