Hey I love this school, but I would have 0 chance to go without any sort of significant scholarship money. Do you think I would be able to receive it?

SAT - Taking in March (as backup)

Worked throughout Sophomore and Junior year winters
Engaged in school clubs
Volunteer Work
Speak Russian & Spanish on top of English (obviously)

Carolina offers both need-based and merit aid. If you have no chance of going without some aid, perhaps you would qualify for need-based aid.

There are no guarantees of merit aid. My D has a 35 ACT, 4.0 UW, 10 APs, leadership positions … and was admitted but not invited to Scholarship Day. I know several other well-qualified young people who were not invited to Scholarship Day. As a result, I would not count on merit aid to fund your Carolina education.

Keep up the good work, apply to Carolina and see what happens, but also make sure that you apply to several colleges that you feel you could afford. Good luck to you!
