A Top 2% with a 2260 is a reasonable candidate for ANY university.
Don’t let anybody scare you or tell you otherwise.
BUT… you do need to have a good mix of safety/match/reach schools just like anybody else.

The best way to counteract a so-so GPA is with your SAT–2300+, ideally higher.

Keep in mind the language SAT II’s are particularly difficult.

And I know you didn’t want advise regarding your ability to achieve these accomplishments, but you’re seriously overestimating yourself. Each division of your ECS will require an enormous about of time, effort, and expertise to pull off, and I find it incredibly hard to believe you can actually accomplish such large-scale accomplishments in several arenas.

What schools were you specifically thinking of applying to? I would suggest you apply to several in each of the three groupings (gold, silver, bronze). Your stats are good, but you simply never know. You want to have options.

Glassesarechic: I actually am in the midst of doing every one of the things listed under Environmental, Writing & Volunteerism. As for drama, that won’t be hard to do. I love theater; I’ve had lead roles since I was 6. Plus, most of the competition for drama is leaving this year.

Jc40: I’ve never heard of said groupings… please explain?

Glassesarechic: One more thing; I’ve been hearing that having a score of 2300+ with a so-so GPA (is it really that so-so? A- avg w/ rigorous courses?) shows some sort of laziness… I’m not worried about that, though. I’m obviously going to try to get the highest score I’m capable of.

Jc40: I really don’t know which schools I’ll be applying to… I’m planning on researching schools more in-depth this summer. The only one that I’ve visited & loved so far, is Tufts. I’ve also been to Yale, just because I live in CT and have been to the museum for field trips and research. I loved the environment there… I’ve been to Princeton because my uncle attended and lives in a nearby town. From what I saw, I loved.
Just from reading about them, Brown, Dartmouth, Stanford, UCLA Berkeley, UVA, Swarthmore, UPenn & many others seem great… All I know is that I’m most interested in (in terms of a career) environmental studies, social issues, journalism, publishing/editing/creative writing, business, and law.
