Would it be a good idea to have a car around Berkeley?

Is it a hassle to have a car around Berkeley? Is it better leave my car at home?

yeah definitely leave your car at home. you would have to pay for parking i believe, to have your car. the AC transit bus lines can take you pretty much anywhere, and it’s free!

Also, walking is one of the best parts of Berkeley – you will probably grow to love it to be honest, at least I did.

Unless you have a secured garage (figure anywhere from $80.00 to $120.00 per month for renting a space…if you can find one), then having a car in Berkeley can be a pain. Anyone who parks on the street will get tickets and dents. Public transportation is great in Berkeley and if you only need a car occasionally you can try Zip Car.
