Would it be an excellent EC to...

…have my artworks published in an international artbook(digital). I know it would be uncommon, as the digital art community i belong to is small, but i don’t know that it’s necessarily enough recognition.
What say you?

this would be for somewhere like Brown, Umass amherst, RPI…

depends on if the rest of your app shows a passion for art…personally, i think its boring as hell

Yep, art is definitely going to be a major part of my application.

heh…Boring as hell…I’ll be sure to add plenty of exclamation marks and bold words then to liven it up. I’m sure that’s all it would take to make you happy…

it cracks me up to see more than then times the responses as page views for any one thread…
Anymore opinions?

bump…

Well I wouldn’t consider it a hook by any means, but it’s worth mentioning.
No interest in art school?

I’ll be the devil’s advocate just for this matter.

1). If I post fanfiction poems on the web, does that make me a poet in an international poetry collection (digital)?

2). There are lots of online posting sites for art. All you need is an account and a scanner.

I think you’d do better to elaborate what your work entailed and what it meant to you personally in an essay or something.

Thanx for the feedback…
Gryffon-Augh…
no, not that kind of art work, haha
I mean published, in a physical book of pieces that were selected by qualified judges.
Yes, elaborating, definitely will do.

If you mean published, as in, you send it out and editors either accept you or reject you, and it’s selective, and art is a passion of yours, than sure, why not? You probably won’t be the only one though.

Thanx for answering

Hmmm, true…though most of the others who usually get published in this book are already successful artists in europe (especially germany for some reason). Yes, I’m sure there are a good amount of other published applicants…and having seen some get turned down makes me worry and question wether its a notable EC or not.

You have nothing to lose here. I’m having trouble seeing the problem. If you’re good enough to be an internationally published artist, then how does that hurt you? It would definitely set you apart. I’m confused about your reservations.

Oh, haha, no I wasn’t thinking it might hurt me. I was only wondering how effective it would be as an EC…would it be on the same level of being part of NHS or some other honor society, or better… yeah, the topic just progressed differently, so that might be why it seemed I though that.
