Would it be impolite if I asked my guidance counselor and a teacher to submit 1 (possibly 2) recommendations on 1/2?

I’d like to apply, but I just feel that it would be really really taboo.

Could someone please comment?

Thanks in advance.

You can submit your application now, and after school starts, politely ask them to submit your reccs as soon as possible. Apologize to them for doing this at the last second.

It is unlikely that they will be able to do the reccs 1/2 since they have other things to do, including things that they were asked to do well in advance.

Colleges are not likely to hold against you the fact that your reccs were late. Indeed, because of the large number of apps that arrive at exactly the due date, colleges can’t go through apps the day that they arrive, so usually don’t even hold it against students if their apps are a few days late.

In doing things like this, it also helps if you’ve been polite in promptly submitting thank-you notes for the reccs the GC and teachers already have done.

bump…thanks for the comment northstar, good thing I got all of them christmas gifts before I went for break

My teachers looked funny at me for giving them 2 1/2 weeks for 2 recs…

good luck
