I’m a high school senior applying to college and I have a question:
I emailed the professor of one of the school’s I was interested in asking about research opportunities but I never received a response.
Could I still write in my essay asking why I chose X school that I reached out to a professor?
Thanks for taking the time to help!

You could say reaching out to a prof indicated how interested you were, but dont write about anything more involved than that.

In fact, if I were you, I wouldn’t mention it at all.

Did the fact that you sent an email to a professor and didn’t get a response actually impact your decision to attend that school in an affirmative way? I really doubt that, and I’m sure an admissions officer would as well.

Actually it was for an early school, I already sent the application
I don’t know what I was thinking. I said something along the lines of “after doing research and reaching out to professor ____ I knew x school was the right choice for me” (in better english haha)

If they dont contact that professor, it will be of some help. If they do, you’re out.

oh man, okay thanks a lot for your response though man. if they were to contact the professor and see that I actually sent an email though you don’t think that would be fine?
