And graduate in 4 to 5 years taking summer classes.
I know several students who started out below college algebra and went on to become successful engineering graduates. Ideally, students majoring in engineering should arrive as Freshmen ready to take Calculus. Otherwise, it is not really possible to complete an Engineering B.S. in only 4 years. if you are starting out in College Algebra, you have at least 2, possibly 3 courses to take before you can take Calculus. This is going to set you back by about a year. Even if you go to Summer school, you should plan on taking an extra semester or two in order to graduate. Otherwise, you may overload yourself with so many courses at one time that you will not be able to well in all of them.
