<p>I’m in 11th grade at the moment, and need an objective estimate of what kind of college I’m looking at. I have a psat of 219 (I’m definitely national merit in my state), my gpa so far is a 4.0 (might change for the worse). I’m working as an intern in a university lab working on alzheimer’s. I play soccer, though not at a varsity level.</p>
<p>you definitely have a chance at the top schools. make sure you can find teachers that could write you outstanding recs though. you could definitely play up your research a lot…esp. if you spend a lot of time doing it and are very passionate about it</p>

Do you have any suggestions for the teacher reccomendation process? I’m not really a people person, so I haven’t introduced myself to my teachers yet. Do teachers write good reccomendations just based on your grades? or do they want something more?</p>

<p>Also, what are your individual PSAT scores? This would be really helpful to know for chancing you. </p>
<p>It seems like you are on the right track, though. Get a few more extracurrics (although the Alzheimer’s research intern is great), have fun, and keep up the good work!</p>
