I’m going to be a senior this coming year. Based on my GPA below do you think that my class rank and college acceptances will be affected a lot GPA wise?
Grade: Semester 1/ Semester 2
F: 3.9/4.0
S: 4.0/4.0
J: 4.0/4.0
If you are planning on starting senioritis this September, it is a bad idea. Even if admitted EA/ED a D can result in the offer being rescinded.
Are you asking if you can get away with getting low grades for a semester in senior year? I’m kind of confused by your question. If you’re referencing the lone 3.9/4.0 year, that is NOT a bad GPA.
If I got a 4.0 for both semesters of my senior year, do you think that that 3.9 would affect the overall my GPA and class rank?
For starters, a 3.9 is not a “bad” GPA. Secondly, no, it would unlikely inpact college decisions.
Of course it will increase your overall GPA. It only requires arithmetic to calculate yourself.
No way to know the effect on rank without knowing everybody else’s GPA. It may increase ot it may not.
There’s not a college in the land that would consider a 3.9 first semester freshman year to be “bad grades.” Silly question (it would seem), but keep up the good work.
Not sure what’s doing with AP or weighted classes, but unweighted, there just isn’t much space to increase any higher.
Seriously?
I’m still looking for the bad semester…
And feel free to calculate your GPA – there are many online GPA calculators.
