why would you think that they’d laugh at your application? It sounds competitive enough to me. Unless you’re a convicted felon or something crazy like that.

I think that you have just as good of a shot as the majority of Stanford applicants. I don’t think it’s a hopeless endeavor nor do I think that you’ll be a shoo-in. But it seems to me like you have a fighting chance.

he just wants people to say comforting words so he can feel better. Why would any college throw a 2230 in the trash without reading over it first

kartrider, my brother had really similar stats to me this year, and he didn’t get in. so i mean yeah, i’d love to hear comforting words but i want to know the reality of stanford admissions. oh andsmarteeangel101, I know, :-), i was just sick of posting forums saying chance, so i thought i’d mix it up. haha

its all about the essays now. trust me i thought they wouldnt even look at mine and i got in. your sats are about 200 more than i had so go write some damn good essays. good luck :)

I think your chances are pretty good. The one thing that might hurt you is if there are several others at your school who look similar, or even stronger in some significant way.

Fill out the application and write your essays in a positive frame of mind. If it’s not Stanford, it will be another top school. You’re in great shape almost no matter what happens.

thanks everyone! I dunno. I feel like I could have a chance, but my brother just went through all this, with similar stats and got rejected. I dunno. But Carlman, I hope your right. If I can get Stanford or an Ivy I’d be pretty happy.
