Would these stats get me into UMich?

I’m currently not applying as I’m not a senior yet. These are just estimates… My high school is said to be one of the highest UMich senders in the state. But I’m feeling hesitant…Chance me?

Small information that probably doesn’t matter:

 • Won the student of the month award for each academic year
 • Received a Congressional Certificate of Recognition (for Hard Work) from Congress member Thaddeus Mccotter at age 14
 • New York Giants wide receiver Devin Thomas was a 2004 graduate alumni in my school and I had an opportunity to meet him

Other Information:

 • I was born, raised, and still reside in Michigan
 • I’m Pakistani, American, and Myanmar
 • My uncle graduated from University of Michigan–Ann Arbor with a Phd and on some occasions works there as a Biology professor
 • Another uncle owns a 7-eleven franchise (Pretty obvious considering my race)…
 • I work part-time at that 7-eleven franchise

I’d say you have a pretty decent chance, though you should work towards increasing your SAT scores, because in the recent past the number of applicants at UMich is skyrocketing. I have a 2060 SAT and i have been deferred.

I’m almost positive that your prospective major for Michigan matters because I got deferred with a 3.73 and a 2340 SAT. As long as your choice of major can be justified with your ECs and awards, you’re probably fine.
