Hey everyone!
I developed an entrepreneurship simulation program in my school where
students made a fake business. Guided by their mentor, they were able to develop a complete business plan which they pitched to a panel of venture capitalists. This wasn’t real, but it provided students a great outlook on what being an entrepreneur is all about.
students and mentors (VCs, CEOs, business professors and other entrepreneurs) met for a one-day conference. Students had the opportunity to talk with mentors about starting a business and other topics.
Would this be a good Hook? I am thinking of applying to some Ivies and colleges like Stanford and Berkeley.
Thanks

Its not so much of a hook as it is an explanation of your ECs. Think about something that would draw in the admission officer. Think about it this way:
The admissions people are tired of reading thousands of college essays, and they often can tell the essay by the first few sentences. If you have a good hook, it will awaken them and they will read your essay with more interest. If you read thousands of essays as your job, would that be the hook that would interest you?

I am really interested in engineering, but I am also interested in business as well. I really really loved this activity and am hoping to write about it for my essays :D…
