Would this mess up my chances?

I'm an intl student and I spent the last month of my vacation travelling in the US and visiting colleges. Now I only have two weeks of my summer vacation left and a LOT of things to do. I'm an IB student so you can guess - extended essay, internal assessments, studying for exams + apps. So if I decide to focus on my work for the next two weeks instead of taking a service opp in order to actually enjoy my holiday will it kill my chances for admission to top schools?

No, it won't kill your chances.

Will it significantly hurt them? I have very little time but if I work day and night I think I can manage both.

It's not going to hurt you. Just do what you have to do. Get your work done and get your applications started.
