Would UC Davis take back my acceptance for this situation?

I might be getting a non-satisfactory grade in my Pre-Calculus class. I have already finished my UC A-G requirement, however, during the last term of my senior year, a lot of bad things happened that made me focus on those issues and have less time with school.

Here are the things that happened:

1) My brother got expelled and I would hear my parents fight and cry every night. I even saw my mom cry as she begged me to help him. He’s into drugs and etc.

2) I have a skin condition called eczema, which flared uncontrollably because of stress and lack of hygiene (seriously… I miss one day of showering and my whole body destroys itself). This caused me to stay home a lot, as well as not able to concentrate in school because the itching was unbearable.

3) My girlfriend of 2 years broke up with me and almost had sex with another guy. It took me a long time to get over this. It contributed to stress (and drove me crazy).

4) I’m really smart and Pre-Calculus wasn’t that hard for me so I paid less attention to it. I guess this caused me to get really behind because it wasn’t a high priority class (unlike AP Physics and AP English lit.) but I’m working really hard to finish on a good note.

So, do you think they’ll take my acceptance away even for these reason? I’m sure when I have to take the Pre-Calculus Diagnostic exam for placement I will do very well. I’m very studios and good at pre-calculus… it’s just a lot of bad things happened. :(

You’ll be fine. Relax.
If worse comes to worst, you can always explain you situation to UC Davis and they will probably understand. I don’t think that they would take your acceptance away for not doing well in a class. i’ve heard of seniors who failed a class their senior year and they didn’t get their acceptances taken away.

You’ll be fine because you did well in your AP classes.
Also, I’d like to say that I have eczema, but its only on my arms. You can get a prescription for it that keeps it under control. You should also try moisturizing with Eucerin.

Sorry you had all these things happen, but I’m concerned about what “unsatisfactory” grade means. Do you mean a grade that isn’t satisfactory to you because it doesn’t meet your ususal high standards, or is your school on a system in which a grade of “U” is given that would correspond with a “D” or an “F” in the class? If we’re talking D or F, then you need to find out Davis’ policy on admitted students who fail an academic course (that is not needed to complete the UC requirements) senior year. UC’s tend to have written out, explicit policies in these matters. You need to find that policy in order to figure out how to handle your situation to be sure you can attend UCD in the fall. It might be that you and/or your GC need to write a letter, or that you can do something like redo and pass the course over the summer. Or it could be that taking the UCD placement test and doing well would suffice. But until you know UCD’s policy, you just don’t know. You would be well advised to find out right away so you can take whatever action is necessary.
