Would writing about being lazy to being more proactive be okay?

Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn?

<p>My question is whether it would be wise to write about how lazy & unmotivated I was from middle school to sophomore year of high school. Eventually, I realized that I had to work hard to support my family in the future because of the gambling issue my dad has. </p>

<p>I’m not completely sure if this would adhere to the prompt, but it is not as if we have to follow it to the letter, right?</p>

9 points. It was by 9 points that I made it to Stuyvesant High School. When I first saw my score, I was puzzled. How was this possible, did I really do this bad? But that didn’t matter. I saw the school I got accepted to: Stuyvesant High School. Honestly, at the time I did not care much about which high school I went to. My mindset was that the better the rank and reputation of the school, the more I should want go there and Stuyvesant was and still is the top public school in New York City. For the first few days, I was genuinely happy and excited. But, I started to gradually realize that the work load must be immense. I started to question my abilities. Was I going to be ready for freshmen year? I knew I was a slacker; I rarely studied for tests, and when I do, it was usually the day of. This eventually slipped from my mind until my freshmen year actually started.
