Would you judge me because of my lack of decorative hand soap dispensers?

Pampered Chef used to sell a foaming soap dispenser. You used regular hand soap and water. We had one for each bathroom at one point.

Totally not worth $50!

At one time we had the Pampered Chef pump dispenser for soap, ended up throwing it out. (Ditto for the Pampered Chef oil sprayer). Too much fuss and clogging.

We keep a small container of Dawn on our kitchen sink. It looks pretty in our blue kitchen  I used to use it for handwashing, but during Covid we added a soft soap dispenser because we were doing so much hand washing.

@Colorado_mom As I wrote earlier, I also have a small container of Dawn by the kitchen sink, though I don’t mind because it coordinates with my blue decor! (the hand soap dispenser is ceramic though to coordinate with decor).

Not yet! We do sit out on our porch with friends. This was just a generic conversation with a friend when she shared about her purchase.

I will not judge you! We use that TJ lemon hand soap pump, and an old small Joy bottle that has the labels removed. They do coordinate with my kitchen window decor! If I ever find a small yellow cat soap dispenser without a stupid expression on the kitty’s face, I would buy it.

Until a year ago, I had a plain white dispenser for dishwashing liquid on the sink ledge, as well as a refillable cheap Dove soap dispenser for hand soap. I will occasionally use the dishwashing soap to wash my hands, especially if my hands are greasy, like when making meatballs. Then last year we had to get a new faucet. When discussing with our plumber what my options were, he was adamant I just had to get the one that included the built in soap dispenser and suggested I would wonder how I lived without one. Well, he was wrong. It doesn’t save any room, it’s just as hard to refill as the ceramic one I had on the back of the sink(harder even, b/c I can’t tell how full it is and have twice overfilled it). To me, it’s six of one, half dozen another. I would not have cared either way to continue living without it.

I absolutely don’t judge anyone for their soap dispensers. I will notice one if it’s really cute or interesting, but if someone has the cheap plastic refillable one in their bathroom? No judging by me.

My hand soap dispenser is built in. LOL

I buy whatever big bottle at Target smells best to me. Dawn stays under the sink… well, at least that’s where I put it, DH tends to leave it on the counter which drives me nuts.

I added a soap dispenser in the kitchen last year because of COVID. I use the Stonewall Kitchen soap too. I have also purchased the French Lavender Method hand soap.

I likely have some off season BBWscent pump dispenser that was on super sale. I will have a fresh hand towel for you to use as well. Kids are typically responsible for the guest bathroom cleaning and if I wasn’t able to check before visitors arrive I can’t assure that its ā€œhotel cleanā€.

(Please dont arrive within 30 minutes of my teen sons post school ā€œreleaseā€. Please give me 10 minutes to air out and clean. )

I just have the plain dispenser with the foaming soap. I think they look fine!

Yes, you can refill those foaming dispensers with anything; it’s the foaming mechanism that makes it foam, not the product.

I would absolutely judge you! …favorably :grinning:

It makes me happy to see how many people are saying ā€˜no’ …but actually are agreeing with you…

I would totally judge you. Hold it. I am at your house so probably for food and drink? No way I am judging you… :joy:.

We use a colored bottle in the kitchen for dish soap. It looks nice. I have a soap dispensor but we stopped using it years ago in the kitchen. We had a nice looking dispensor in the main bathroom of the house but lately it’s been Mrs Meyers hand soap liquid to show everyone we care about the environment (and too lazy to put it in a dispensor…)

I have to add… We used to use the olive oil thing but some people at my house are colored blind and screwed up… (all pointing fingers at me :point_right::rofl:)

No judging from here.

I do have hand soap dispensers at each sink, including the kitchen, that I refill from large bottles of Soft Soap. A few years back I found that I’m very sensitive to MI / MCI which, sadly, Method uses (or did use, I haven’t checked lately.) Once I switched to soaps, shampoos and other products that don’t contain MI / MCI as preservatives most of my skin problems, including cracks in my fingers, disappeared.

The liquid dish soap dispenser is built-in and H set it up with a Never-MT tube/connector thing that draws from a big refill bottle so we go a long, long time between replacing the bottle under the sink.

So I am thinking that maybe I used to put my small dawn bottle away when we had company pre-covid… but geez, that was over a year ago - hard to remember. Sure looking forward to the ability to have company that is not limited to our back yard.

Dawn is my favorite dish detergent. I use it to wash my hands and dishes, so no special hand soap in my kitchen. I do put Dawn in an old ā€œfancyā€ soap dispenser because I like to pump for soap.

I buy inexpensive pump bottles for soap and refill them from a larger bottle. I wash them between uses and only toss them in the recyclables when the pumps start to malfunction. I like clear bottles because I can buy different colors of liquid soap and play with the colors. If the soaps are a different density you can even get layers. But don’t mix when you’re tired. Some color combinations only result in an unappetizing grayish brown that’s only good for general household cleaning (for floors, gardens tools, etc).

If someone finds decorative soap dispensers pleasing i think that’s great. I don’t have them but I think they’re fine. Kind of the equivalent of those little fancy hand soaps in flower shapes in a pretty bowl in the guest bathroom. It’s a way of saying you’re making people welcome.

BTW has anyone else fallen hard for Dawn Power Wash (which sits on the counter next to my sink)? That is one great product.

That’s the Dawn I have sitting by my sink! I do not buy the refill containers. Instead, I use dilute Dawn Platinum concentrate (1:4 with water) to refill the sprayer. Works the same way, and does not generate as much plastic waste.

I don’t even notice what people have. Or maybe I’ve forgotten since it’s been so long since I’ve been in any kitchen but my own.
I keep the Dawn dishwashing soup on the counter. I refill it from the large container I buy at Costco. We have one of the pumps I. The sink that we rarely use. I use Mrs Meyers hand soap and I have a bottle at every sink in my house except for the master bath. I sometimes use the Dawn to wash my hands if I’ve been working with meat.
I also keep a Dawn on the counter in my laundry room that I use for grease stains on clothes.
