Would you like to chance?

Hello, 1st post on this forum for me!
Anyway, could you guys tell me what to improve, if anything, over this summer? Thanks

Rank: 1 out of 671

GPA- 4.00 unweighted

Weighted- I dont know? Took 4 AP classes, got As, but I dont know how to figure this out?

SAT I- 2370

(I know I need to improve these, that’s a given)

AP scores- I don’t know yet?

Ethnicity- Asian

Chance for HYPS please? Also, University of Texas is the back up school. Chance me, and I’ll chance you!
:)

Everything looks solid. Good chance at HYPS.

Thanks! Anything I should work on? Also, I can’t seem to find a chance post by you…?

Your high class rank and test scores are going to be an undeniable advantage in your application. Also, keep in mind you can’t count your volunteer hours from middle school in your college application. Playing a varsity sport will help, albeit one as common for an Asian male as tennis. This is all objectively speaking, of course. However, your extracurriculars are not TOO unique, and there seems to be a lack of major awards. I’d still give you good chances at at least one out of HYPS.

The only thing that stands out are your relatively (and I emphasize that word) low Subject Test scores, but you already indicated that you were aware of that. Everything else looks good. As for chancing me, there is no need.

Hmmm What exactly does that mean?

Many of the most-qualified applicants, like silverturtle himself, know their chances compared to other applicants. There is no need to chance him because he realizes college admissions is largely a game of luck, and he has done his part, so now it’s up to the admissions officers to do theirs.

I don’t think that I would benefit from a chance thread; and, having chanced many hundreds of people myself, I have a pretty good concept of my chances.

The ECs are a little bland, if numerous. Fair chance. You’ll probably get into one or two if you play your cards reasonably well.

I say you have a pretty good chance at any of those schools. Your credentials are awesome!

Alright, thanks!

^ Why do you keep telling competitive applicants to forget top schools and try for Rutgers?

Oxymoron much? (“false opinions”?)

What does that even mean?

As lifeless as what?

LOL!

That’s like the best question ever.

Hannibalxx, I know you already go to Columbia, but the incoming seniors are nervous about getting into Ivy Leagues, and yes, I would say they ARE better than Rutgers.

Silverturtle- He means that you haven’t been accepted to college, and thus, don’t know how the process works, which is a false assumption, seeing as you’ve seen hundreds of chance posts and applicants, so if anything, you are the MOST qualified, even if for just the sheer number of applicants you have seen.

Overall these chance posts don’t mean much. We all know people who seemed like they were shoo ins, but got denied, and we also know people who didn’t seem to have that much of a chance, but were accepted. These threads don’t carry much weight, so we all shouldn’t read into them to seriously. They are only good for telling what to improve, or if one is on the right track.

After I read some of your other posts, I quickly realized that was so much bullcrap. I don’t think you even know how to spell, much less sit down and even take an SAT. It’s obvious from your writing that you have the mental capacity of a child.

Actually, on further consideration, that was quite clever, although that shows what kind of human being you are.

^Collegekid2011
For being gullible, you won’t get in…
I mean god, it is THE Hannibalxx.
lol

You have a great GPA, great SAT, and relatively low subject test scores, and fair ECs.
Seems great.
