Because I know that one of my (close) male friends is about to be dumped by my (closer) female friend. I feel really, really bad for him because it’s been a LD relationship for a little more than a month (he got this internship kind of far away, and traveled back home JUST to see her).

He’s not a bad person at all - he’s quite kind but the reason my female friend wants to dump him is quite valid.

I think it is none of your business and it would be really crappy of you to say anything. Let the girl dump him herself. She deserves the opportunity to let him down the way she wants to. None of your business. She shouldn’t even have told you, and this is precisely why. It puts you in an awkward position.

Well let’s see, you could tell him and get your female (and possibly male) friends really mad at you. Or you could not tell him, he’ll get dumped and nobody is mad at you. Hmm…

The question was Would you want to know beforehand if you were going to be dumped, NOT should I tell my friend why he was dumped by a closer friend of mine.

Nobody SHOULD know beforehand, and no, I would not want to know beforehand. If my partner invested the time, energy, and emotion to keep up a relationship with me he would deserve the chance to end things on his own terms. If someone told me first, it would be effectively ending the relationship FOR us. And what if he changed his mind? My blabber mouth friend would have effed everything up. It is not the OP’s place to say anything.

No, I would definitely not want to know beforehand. In fact, I would be extremely ****ed off if someone told me before my partner did. It would just make things more messy.
