Wou'lda, Coulda, Didn't?

So since all the graduated seniors and beyond are headed on their way to college, the new crop of rising seniors are now starting that insidious process we call the college applications and senior year.

Is there anything that you alumni have to say as advice now that you’re headed off for bigger and better things?

Any tidbits of advice or things you wish you had done or would do if you could rewind?
Especially with the application process. And don’t say, don’t freak out/ stress yourself out too much, cause no matter what you say, we will. haha

Class of 09 and more, help us youngin’s out :)

wow i wrote woulda real weirdd

This might seem weird advice, but I would advise staying away from CC around deadlines, especially for the forums where everybody was obsessing over results for particular colleges. seriously, CC freaked me out whenever I would come back on, especially when I read through chance me threads. I decided for my sanity to stay away, and stop obsessing. As a result, my college app process was a LOT stress free than that of people who were counting down to the minute to the deadlines with other people.

I stayed away from the Stanford waitlist thread until I got a likely email and in the end when I received my acceptance. I’m really glad I did… I would have wasted over a month of my life obsessing over the waitlist results. Instead I had a blast and explored my other options (and fell in love w the school of my choice w/o the cloud of “what if…stanford” hanging over my head). When the final acceptance email came, I was pleasantly suprised :).

Oh, and if you’re going to post questions on a certain college’s facebook group, directed towards the Dean of Admissions, please make sure that your questions are at least spelled right!
