Wouldn't it be funny if I received a scholarship but was denied admission?

<p>Yes, they do. It happens to ROTC scholarship applicants.</p>

<p>I don’t know about ROTC (I can see why that can happen), but students usually have to be admitted first before the school considers them for institutional scholarships.</p>

<p>I have seen this on a rare occasion. It is just about the most frustrating example of right hand not talking to the left that any student can experience.</p>

<p>It is very unusual…but the reality is that you would NOT be able to use the scholarship anyway if you are not admitted. So what difference would it make?</p>

<p>Well, my daughter applied ED to a top school and they sent us the amazing financial aid package-- then deferred and rejected her. It was her first choice and the package was great. It was NOT funny. :(</p>
