Wow Air

Has anyone flown wow air. Please tell me about your experience.

We flew WOW last year to Iceland. No problems. The flight attendants wore very stylish outfits!

They didn’t get my suitcase to Iceland for 2 extra days, and it was frustrating trying to get an answer from anyone about when it would arrive. There were several people on our flight whose bags were left behind just because they wanted to save on weight.

They nickel and dime you on being able to have carry ons and any food. But, I think you would still save money if your bag arrives on time.

How comfortable are the seats?

For example I flew Frontier to the west coast but never again. They are great for a two hour or less flight.

D was stuck in the airport in Iceland for 12 hours when her flight there was delayed past the departure of her connection to Europe. She missed an entire day of her vacation when she arrived in the evening instead of early morning. Weather was not a factor.

The flight was cheap.

Sorry, I don’t recall the seats. It’s not really something I notice unless they are particularly nice.

My friends kids fly Wow all the time because they can’t afford more. They don’t care about the seats, delayed flights, etc.

We are flying IcelandAir to Iceland. Tkts are only $450ish RT from Newark.

Their tickets are significantly cheaper for flights to Paris however seat comfort is important to me. Frontier seats are like sitting on a folding chair which is fine for a short flight but not a long one.

Think about what will happen if there is a problem with the flight. Weather? Strike? Are there other flights available or will they just cancel your tickets and refund the amount? $300 is not going to get you home from Paris is something goes wrong. Do you have 2-3 extra days?

Both my brother and sister (on separate trips) were stuck in Europe 2 years ago when Lufthansa went on strike. My sister and family were in Rome, and niece got home to DC fairly easily, but sister, BIL, and nephew took 3 days with hopscotching to London, Canada, Chicago, Houston and finally Denver. Most of that took place on United which honored the Lufthansa tickets. Brother, trying to come from Zurich, just ended up waiting 3-4 extra days, which was fine as they were on business so someone was paying for the extension. Girlfriend’s kids were home an extra 3-4 days alone.

No other airline will honor WOW tickets, so you have to consider that when deciding if the fair is worth it.

My son took it to London last year and thought it was fine. His only requirement was cheap airfare.

We took it to and from Iceland a few years ago. I don’t remember any problem with the seats. There was a three-hour delay on the return trip for no particular reason, that caused us to miss a connection in the states, but that happens on every airline, all the time.

Loved their shade of purple. Really, really loved Iceland.

Daughter and I flew it home from Copenhagen (via Reykjavik as all WOW flights seem to fly through there) after our legacy airline cancelled our flight due to weather. It was fine…Absolutely no frills and you pay for any extra, but would not hesitate to fly it again. You just need to know what you’re getting. It was amazingly cheap for a day of purchase!

My friends flew roundtrip on Wow from San Francisco to Dublin through Iceland for $420. No complaints. They had a 19 hour layover and took an amazing daytrip in Iceland.

A friend of mine refuses to ever fly them again. When she was visiting Iceland 2 years ago they cancelled her flight and said they wouldn’t be able to get her back to NY for another 3 days. She ended up buying a ticket on Icelandair for around $1,000 because she had to get back to work.
