early txtng.

I agree with poetgrl.

^poetgrl, your house thread is so entertaining!!!

Good morning everyone, and belated birthday greenies to confetti!! Hope not too many of you are in the path of that monster storm. S2 appears to have a bulls eye on his fair city once again…

tell him to stock up on batteries and food and water.

It seems to me that the storms are getting later in the year these last few years. We get tricked into thinking it’s a mild winter, and then, bam!

Big storm a-brewin!! Stock up on alcohol and poptarts… I mean bread and milk :)

Should anyone care, Hebrew does have vowel points [Introduction to Hebrew Vowels](Introduction to Hebrew Vowels) but in places like the torah, the Hebrew is written without them.

So interesting, the different perceptions of playing the green game. To me, it was a fun diversion, but I also repped a LOT of people that weren’t playing the game, because I either enjoyed their posts or found them insightful.

I signed on tonight after not being on for several days. I noticed the green boxes were gone. I was not into the whole green box “thing”. I do sympathize with those bothered by it. I felt it was a bit too “middle school”, and did feel like there was an in crowd.

But reading the entries of those who participated, it sounds like you guys were just having fun. Did you really include everyone? And I mean by that, did everyone who posted get a green square? Or did you have to be cleaver or funny or deep?

I started a thread a few weeks ago. The thread got positive feedback and I received several PMs supporting the thread. I noticed another green box after this thread started. (it has since died, haha–50 and over moderate diet/exercise thread or maybe it was over 50 moderate diet/exercise). Whatever.

I thought to myself that earning a box felt better than gaming it, which I felt this thread did.

But if you guys had fun and made friends, more power to you.

But I was still distracted by all the green.

morrismm - everyone got squares. Just about everyone who posted got the kind of welcome at the door that middle school students dream of getting at parties… (really? you’re glad I’m here?? :D).

It was also cool getting recognition IRCC (in real CC, as opposed to real life). But it was only a matter of time until everyone who stayed around for awhile had lots of squares – we just sped it up a little and used it to be happy.

It was definitely a distracting time-suck. But so are a lot of other threads. Do I really need to read 42 pages on the audition process for a fine art that my kids don’t participate in? Only if it’s interesting or makes me feel good…

Hi all! I was one who played the game in its somewhat earlier stages. In fact, I started reading the prestigiosity thread because it was so funny, then it all of a sudden changed! So I repped and asked for reps enough to get to 2000, and then stopped. I DID, however, as others have mentioned, rep posts in other threads that I liked as well. In fact, the green box game got me started on doing that. It was as close to a “like” button as we had!

It was fun on other threads noticing peoples’ green box lines grow, because I knew they had been over here! I guess it didn’t feel like middle school to me because no matter who you were, if you came here, you’d get greened. :)

And I too still have a scrap piece of printer paper on the desk in front of me now as I type (no cleaning lady here!) with about 40 usernames on it! :D

Hello, everyone. Hope your recoveries have not been too difficult.

In case you haven’t seen p. 112 of Today’s NYT Style Magazine, it’s worth checking out. States that, according to Pantone, the Color of the Year for 2013 is…Emerald.

We were clearly ahead of the curve.

I never had any doubt of our fashion forwardness.

I miss my fashionable virtual friends.
I actually check my fb more than cc these days.

LOL, I ran across something in passing a few days ago (can’t recall where-- maybe main sign in screen page from my ISP) that said the big “in” fashion color was green. Thought of everyone here :)

Glad to hear we were green before green was cool! :)
